Villa Despanto

Home away from home! Spent 12 days at Despanto Villa while exploring Western Crete. Would have stayed longer! Make sure you try the owner’s olive oil!
The Villa has it’s own compound and feels very secure. The grounds are Manicured and sprinkled with palms and plants everywhere. The house itself has a traditional look but is modern and offers everything you need…. Even an outdoor cooking area with gas bbq! We enjoy the countryside so this was perfect for us. The pool and well shaded outside dining patio face west so we enjoyed sunset over the mountains. There are a couple of dining options within walking distance. Tony and Debbie are beyond welcoming. Very responsive and caring. Posarelli was also seamless and reliable. Will use them again

Beautiful property and fantastic hosts. The property has everything you could need and just a short walk from the village with some great restaurants. Tony and Debbie were extremely helpful and provided excellent advice for places to go and visit, they are very passionate about their property and did everything they could to ensure we had a fantastic holiday. Thank you, we definitely hope to return soon.

Can’t recommend Villa Despanto enough. It is even nicer than the photos. It’s very clean, everything is new with lots of extras.
The location is private and quiet. 5 min walk to the village. 5 min drive to lots of other restaurants. Beautiful beaches 15-20 min drive.
The owners, Tony & Debbie are exceptional. We didn’t arrive until 10.30pm but they were there to greet us and show us how everything worked. They even stocked up on the all basics. Nothing was too much trouble.

Tony and Despina are absolutely wonderful and make you feel all the more at home in their beautiful house. Thank you for a memorable stay - we will be back!

The villa has everything you want in a 2 bedroom villa, nothing is missing. extra water, toilet rolls, clean, comfortable and Tidy. We stayed for 5 nights, the hosts were excellent very friendly, helpful and tried really hard to accommodate your every need. Peaceful location, best served with a car but you can walk into the local town where there is a small shop and pizza parlour. Loved our stay here, and will definitely return.

Wonderful villa! We had a fantastic vacation in villa Despanto! Upon arrival we had a very warm welcome from the owners Debbie and Tony, they are wonderful people, gave us a tour of the house and property and explained us how everything works. The house is fully furnished and very functional. The kitchen has all you need and there were even some basics in the fridge including a welcoming cold bottle of wine.
The house is new, spacious, very clean, airco is silent and works really well, beds are big and comfortable, master bedroom has an extra long bed so very comfortable for taller people like me. Outside you will find beautiful gardens all around the house which are full of beautiful plans and flowers. The swimming is fantastic, it's very big and the area around is very spacious, there is also a play area for the little ones. There is a covered outside kitchen with a BBQ which we didn't use to avoid fire risks, attached there is also another WC so you don't have to enter the house every time. The villa has beautiful views although there are still a few villas under construction in front but that didn't bother us at all. On the property you will find lots of olive trees and dozens of different fruit trees, they are all maintained by the owner Tony, ask him for a little tour and he will be happy to show you around. The villa is located just outside a small village, there is a restaurant/pizzeria just a 6 minutes walk, they don't have a big menu but all they make is fresh and delicious and at a very good price. Otherwise a 5 minute drive to Vamos and you will find several more restaurants, minimarket and bars. There are many beaches nearby, the 2 closest ones are both about 15-20 min drive, one is in Almirida, this one is smaller and can get a bit crowded. The other one is towards Georgioupoli, here you will find a small beach in the town, this one is very crowded, but if you drive a bit further you will find a huge beach (Peristeras Beach) with plenty of space, beautiful water and many bars and restaurants. We advise a place called Giorgiali, they have free sunbeds (just consumption), shower, toilet and a nice restaurant, we often spent the morning in the villa and the afternoon at the beach ending at the restaurant Giorgiali (beach dinner with a wonderful sunset). Other place to visit is Chania, very beautiful harbour, ask Tony and Debbie for directions. We totally recommend this property and will definitely come back!
