Villa Elisa

An old, country-style villa sympathetically restored in a quiet, private location within easy reach of Cortona and other sights. Nice pool and lots of outside space for relaxing, cooking (brick-built barbecue) and eating. We barely spent any time indoors except when sleep

Living in Villa elisa is like going back in time where genuine Italian details are well taken care of. Beautiful trees and planting on the grounds and the pool area are breathtaking. The owner lives in the neighboring building and is very helpful. The neighboring town of Cortona is incredibly beautiful and charming. A stay in Villa i Elisa is highly recommended!

Bella location. Villa, giardino e piscina solo per noi! Tranquillità assoluta. La sua posizione ti permette di raggiungere in breve tempo Cortona, Arezzo, Perugia, Assisi, ecc. Rapporto qualità/prezzo buono. Consigliata.

Positives: An old romantic, winding farmhouse with plenty of space and a great pool in a large area with a fantastic view of Cortona. The hosts are friendly and the outdoor area is regularly maintained.
The furnishings are romantic and antique, if a little rickety. The two kitchens are equipped with all the necessary utensils for self-catering.
The location is great. Completely secluded, you really are on your own and have your privacy. Nevertheless, you can quickly reach the next town, which has a few supermarkets, and it doesn't take long to get to Cortona either.
Negative: The access road is adventurous on a steep, narrow gravel track full of potholes. It becomes critical with oncoming traffic.
The pictures in the description are glossed over. The photos of the interiors must have been taken with additional spotlights, because in reality the rooms are all very dark as they only have small windows with trees in front of them. You often need light even during the day.
In two of the bedrooms, the air conditioning is so loud that we didn't switch it on. There is no air conditioning in the lounges - only high ceiling fans that do nothing.
Unfortunately, the hosts hardly speak any English and when there are problems (e.g. handover of the house, 2 x power cuts, final bill) communication becomes difficult. Dogs are barking in the neighbourhood, even at night.
Since there are also additional costs for final cleaning, tourist tax and all the electricity, the price-performance ratio is actually not good.
Nevertheless, we felt comfortable and do not regret our stay.

Magnifique propriété bien entretenue dans un cadre superbe et apaisant. Les hôtes étaient très sympathiques et réactifs. Excellent séjour.

Lack of air conditioning made sleeping in some bedrooms unbearable. Very hot weather during our stay - kitchen no AC.
Dishwasher very unreliable. There are no signs for Villa Elisa - even the people next door had no idea where it was. There should be far more local information available as the owner speaks no English. Bus timetables , taxi firms, bike hire, etc. We had a wonderful time at Villa Elisa but the basic requirements for a 5 star rating are not being met.

Beautiful villa in stunning rural setting walkable to amenities and a short drive / bus from Cortona. Gorgeous pool area. Cooking facilities very basic with ancient appliances. Bathrooms dated but clean. Fantastic characterful property in lovely setting but facilities dated.

Amazing place and view! Great location and very peaceful

The view on Cortona from the pool will leave you breathless! Lots a wildlife (deers) and birds and such a peaceful athmosphere, it's really a piece of paradise in Tuscany. Elisa is a fantastic and warm person, caring, helping, always available with good tips. We will definitely come back!

We had a wonderful Tuscan family holiday at villa elisa. we felt like we were really immeted in tuscan life with 3 generations of our family dining on long tables in the beautiful gardens each evening. The view from the pool of historic Cortona is magnificent. The local food and wine is delicious and the Italians warm and welcoming.

wonderful experience for the whole family. The grounds are beautiful, with plenty of room, and the atmosphere is second to none. Very well kept throughout. The landlady is a very pleasant person and the whole booking and checking out very well organized. I highly recommend it

we found Villa Elisa very accomendating for our family of 9, It was a great location and easy access to the train in Camucia and to Cortona.There were a few small issues, ie american coffee pot was not so good,a few times the hot water would come and go,and the past thru bedroom was difficult.but the gardens, pool and outdoor eating was awesome!!!,we loved drinking our morning coffee outside. one night we fixed an italian style dinner and ate on the big outdoor table. The owner did not speak any english so it was a bit of a challenge when we checked in,however in looking back thats what made our vacation so wonderful. new and different surroundings, kind people, great food and wine.
